OMV Lebanon Camps 2016
Please find below the basic information you need to know before applying to join us in Lebanon this summer.

Dates & Prices:
Camp 1: Saturday 25th June - Sunday 3rd July
Camp 2: Saturday 2nd July - Sunday 10th July
The cost of attending the Lebanon Camps is £590 for both weeks or £540 for just one week.
This price includes: flights, food, accomodation, insurance and transport within Lebanon. It does not include personal spending money while in Lebanon. All over costs are covered by fundraising for the project by both the British and Lebanese Associations of the Order of Malta Volunteers.
If you are attending for just one week, if you are eligible for a bursary, or if you would like to attend as a member of the medical team or clergy, please email Harriet for the correct bursary code.
Those wishing to travel at alternate times and book their own flights should contact Harriet for more information about the timings, cost and insurance cover.
Important Dates for the diary:
Applications: will OPEN on Saturday 30th January and CLOSE on Sunday 24th April.
OMV Training Day (complusory for all): Monday 30th May at the London Oratory School (West Brompton).
Camp 1: Departing London lunchtime on the 25th June, and arriving back in London at lucnhtime on the 3rd July.
Camp 2: Departing London lunchtime on the 2nd July, and arriving back in London at lunchtime on the 10th July.
Both Camps: Departing London lunctime on the 25th June, and arriving back in London at lunchtime on the 10th July.
Volunteer requirements:
• First Aid Training - Volunteers will have to have undertaken First Aid training, either by attending the Order of Malta training day in London on Monday 30th May, or by independently organising recognised training through preferably the Red Cross or St John’s Ambulance.
• DBS checks – all volunteers must have valid DBS clearance through the Order of Malta or Hospitaller Limited. These forms will be completed at the Order of Malta training day in London on Monday 30th May.
- Anyone without clearance and who is not able to attend the training day should contact Harriet as soon as possible.
• Passports – as soon as an application has been accepted, all volunteers are required to supply their passport number, expiry date and confirm their name as it appears.
*** Anyone who has travelled to Israel should contact Harriet, as they will NOT be allowed to enter Lebanon if they have Israeli travel stamps in their passports.
• Foreign Office advice and Security – we closely monitor and follow the British Foreign Office advice for Lebanon. All activities, trips and travel will be exclusively in areas deemed safe.
